Yesterday

PHOTO PROMPT – © Emmy L Gant
Yesterday all my troubles seem so far away

I sense his malignant presence as my parlous mission brings me to his door.

My feelings remain as dark as the clouds huddled in the sky.  My stomach churning at the sight of the plastic bag and its contents

“Turn on the video feed,” the command crackles in my headphone.

I signal my partner to remain in the shadows as we edge towards the door.

Yesterday love was such an easy game to play.

We kick the door down and there he is, in our gun-sight, still carving his latest victim.

Endgame.

Twisty windy and tense. I like the way you used Yesterday. Well done.

  2. Interesting construction. An apt tribute, given the news today about Sir George Martin

    1. Thanks for your comments Sandra. I tried to use the music of Beatles and George Martin in the two stories this week.

The line "yesterday love was such an easy game to play" is sticking with me . Nicely done.

  4. This one is diametrically opposite in pace and mood compared to the previous one. Modern, gory, violent and shocking.

  6. Ugh... carving his last victim. Very intense, very dark, and the song gives it just the extra something. Great story.
