Sting in the Tale

PHOTO PROMPT © Douglas M. MacIlroy
“Grandpa what is that?”

“That my boy was a dangerous predator I encountered when I was a Storm Trooper.”

“Were you in the Star Wars? Is that even real?”

“Of course it is child you can’t make those things up.”

“It looks ugly”

“It’s vicious and powerful with a poisonous tail. The poison doesn’t kill you but stops you from running away while it eats you.”

“How did you kill it?”

“It was about to eat Grandma so I was able creep up and stab it with my lightsabre”

“You saved Grandma?”

“Sadly I did dear child, sadly I did.”

A “Dialogue-only” story this week, something I normally avoid but hopefully it works this time.

I'm guessing grandma is not anywhere nearby to hear that story. Funny story..told well.

  4. Dear Subroto,

Your dialogue only story says it all. I can almost see the twinkle in Grandpa's eyes and the wide-eyed wonder in the child's. The last line made me laugh out loud.

    Well done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Grandpa certainly knows how to spin a tale. I love the last line about Grandma! Ha ha. This totally works as a dialogue only.

Should have cut out the middle-man and just gone for her with the lightsabre. Poor predator!

  14. The dialogue worked well, Subroto. Grandpa tells interesting stories. Grandma's probably used to his teasing by now. Well done. :) --- Suzanne
