Treasure Island

PHOTO PROMPT © Ted Strutz

“Wow! You lived on that island!”

If only I had a dollar for each time someone said that to me I would have left a lot earlier.

A tropical island paradise surrounded by secluded bays, golden beaches and activities to excite everyone.

Barf!

Welcome to the island, population 1507 where anonymity doesn’t exist and secrets don’t stay buried for long.

It rains three months a year.  Nothing much you can do except stay inside.

Mr T’s lawyers informed me after his passing that a quarter of his estate was mine.  Turns out that Mr T was productive during the monsoons.

There will be a few island stories this week or even a ferry godmother, so I'll just include one of my favourite songs.

  2. Dear Subroto,

An island is the same as a small town. Although, the island has the ocean surrounding it. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

  5. I'd happily be resident 1508 as long as I could take a few umbrellas! It can't be any worse than the little villages I've lived in and this place has a beach!

    1. You probably don't appreciate paradise when you are young and restless and want to run away from it. Thanks for reading and commenting Keith.

  6. Good monologue. Truth is you can get tired of any place--- even paradise.
So Mr T made hay while the sun shines and when it rained he made heirs?

  7. You're right. If you'd lived on an island all your life you'd like a change sometimes. Money would make things easier though. Good writing, Subroto. :) --- Suzanne

  9. A combination of excessively nosy neighbours and three months of torrential rainfall isn't my idea of Paradise :-) He's well off out of it, even if it is feet first!
