Midnight Harvest

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

I know they are looking for me.

Out at the midnight hour with a torch in one hand and a weapon in the other.
I watch them, amused at the spectacle unfolding in front of my eyes.  Sticks probing bushes, ominous threats shouted out loud.

Why so much fuss over a few missing children?  Mostly street urchins if you must know.  Who will miss them if a few go out of circulation? Snivelling snotty bastards loitering in the streets.

I stab the wriggling body in the sack.  A plump well fed homeboy.

My master will be pleased with tonight’s harvest.

This week's picture brings to my mind those words

It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking
In the dark....

I also have another story in this week Holy Memory Batman.
