Holy Memory Batman

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

Gotham was in strife.

Commissioner Gordon used the bat signal to summon the dynamic duo.  As Gordon explained, “I don't know who he is beneath that mask of his, but I know when we need him, and we need him now!"

Batman had deduced that False Face was involved.   Robin was curious.

“Holy Guacamole Batman!  How do you know?”

The detective explained, "It's obvious. Only a criminal would disguise himself as a licensed, bonded guard yet callously park in front of a fire hydrant."

It was a battle but the duo prevailed.

Tune in tomorrow/next week, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

Written for Friday Fictioneers Word Count : 100

This is my second submission for this week.  The first one is Innocent Harvest.

I had to do this after reading the news that Bat-Signal will Shine Over L.A. in Honor of Adam West.  I have used original quotes from the TV series.

Adam West passed away on 9th June.  To those who did not know, West starred as Batman in the popular American TV series that ran January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968.   I got to watch it much later as a child and then again as an adult.  That is when you discover the insinuations and the double entendres, but regardless it was fun to watch.

  2. For those of us who spent Wednesday and Thursday nights glued to the TV, that last sentence was perfect! And thank you for referring to Batman as a detective. RIP Adam West.

  4. Dear Subroto,

I remember when it aired. It was great fun to see what new words would pop up in the fight scenes or which star would appear as a villain. Lovely tribute to a favorite. BIFF! ZOP! BAMMO! RIP Adam West.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Lovely. You got the style just perfect with this. And of course only a criminal parks in front of a hydrant.

    1. Thanks Sarah. And that is the actual dialog from the show. Campy but fun with lines like "It is the duty of every good citizen of Gotham City to report meeting a man from Mars in a public park".
