Holy Memory Batman

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

Gotham was in strife.

Commissioner Gordon used the bat signal to summon the dynamic duo.  As Gordon explained, “I don't know who he is beneath that mask of his, but I know when we need him, and we need him now!"

Batman had deduced that False Face was involved.   Robin was curious.

“Holy Guacamole Batman!  How do you know?”

The detective explained, "It's obvious. Only a criminal would disguise himself as a licensed, bonded guard yet callously park in front of a fire hydrant."

It was a battle but the duo prevailed.

Tune in tomorrow/next week, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

This is my second submission for this week.  The first one is Innocent Harvest.

I had to do this after reading the news that Bat-Signal will Shine Over L.A. in Honor of Adam West.  I have used original quotes from the TV series.

Adam West passed away on 9th June.  To those who did not know, West starred as Batman in the popular American TV series that ran January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968.   I got to watch it much later as a child and then again as an adult.  That is when you discover the insinuations and the double entendres, but regardless it was fun to watch.

Midnight Harvest

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

I know they are looking for me.

Out at the midnight hour with a torch in one hand and a weapon in the other.
I watch them, amused at the spectacle unfolding in front of my eyes.  Sticks probing bushes, ominous threats shouted out loud.

Why so much fuss over a few missing children?  Mostly street urchins if you must know.  Who will miss them if a few go out of circulation? Snivelling snotty bastards loitering in the streets.

I stab the wriggling body in the sack.  A plump well fed homeboy.

My master will be pleased with tonight’s harvest.

This week's picture brings to my mind those words

It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking
In the dark....

I also have another story in this week Holy Memory Batman.

Passionflower

PHOTO PROMPT © Sarah Potter

I hesitate, my hand on the doorknob, summoning up courage.  Ten years of neglect have left our holiday home dilapidated and disused.

I am back for the first time since you left.

The day when I built you a garden bed, with an herbaceous border, purple delphiniums, white perennial phloxes and the lemon yellow Anthemis.  You stood there with the sunshine reflecting off your locks and the fragrance of the Jasmine in the room.

This was our paradise, how was I to know that you wanted out?

I see the Passionflower bloom outside. I knew I had fed it well.
