The Appointment

PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

The warm sunshine danced on his face and his eyelids blinked in the light.  His hand unsteadily shielded both eyes as the other groped the ground in an attempt to steady himself.  Soon he was sitting with his back propped against the wall.

He looked around his surroundings. The cobbled path, stone walls and the metallic manhole covers.  A woman walked past, averting her gaze as her steps quickened.

His shirt felt damp under the left pocket.  He touched it instinctively and looked at his fingers coated in a sticky red film.

He was not going to make his appointment.

I am in the middle of a break right now, so actually do not have any appointments to miss (except a FF deadline).

Treasure Island

PHOTO PROMPT © Ted Strutz

“Wow! You lived on that island!”

If only I had a dollar for each time someone said that to me I would have left a lot earlier.

A tropical island paradise surrounded by secluded bays, golden beaches and activities to excite everyone.

Barf!

Welcome to the island, population 1507 where anonymity doesn’t exist and secrets don’t stay buried for long.

It rains three months a year.  Nothing much you can do except stay inside.

Mr T’s lawyers informed me after his passing that a quarter of his estate was mine.  Turns out that Mr T was productive during the monsoons.

There will be a few island stories this week or even a ferry godmother, so I'll just include one of my favourite songs.

Holy Memory Batman

PHOTO PROMPT © Dale Rogerson

Gotham was in strife.

Commissioner Gordon used the bat signal to summon the dynamic duo.  As Gordon explained, “I don't know who he is beneath that mask of his, but I know when we need him, and we need him now!"

Batman had deduced that False Face was involved.   Robin was curious.

“Holy Guacamole Batman!  How do you know?”

The detective explained, "It's obvious. Only a criminal would disguise himself as a licensed, bonded guard yet callously park in front of a fire hydrant."

It was a battle but the duo prevailed.

Tune in tomorrow/next week, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

This is my second submission for this week.  The first one is Innocent Harvest.

I had to do this after reading the news that Bat-Signal will Shine Over L.A. in Honor of Adam West.  I have used original quotes from the TV series.

Adam West passed away on 9th June.  To those who did not know, West starred as Batman in the popular American TV series that ran January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968.   I got to watch it much later as a child and then again as an adult.  That is when you discover the insinuations and the double entendres, but regardless it was fun to watch.
