The last time I saw my father he was in a
reminiscent mood.
“My time is nearly up. If I find myself in heaven I hope it will be
in the company of Solly Goldstein and his band.
I owe them eternal gratitude”.
“Who’s Solly Goldstein?”
“Solly played at the Ballina RSL. The best guitar player I have heard. Your mother and I went to his Beatles Tribute
show in February the year you were born.”
“So?”
“Music heard in the
company of a loved one stays with you forever.
Plus you were born in November.
You do the maths.”
