PHOTO PROMPT © Gah Learner |
In hindsight I should have booked the weekend in Venice. Taken a Gondola ride with the gentle pulse of a gondolier’s oar setting the scene for romance. Finish the day watching the sun set behind the Venetian skyline.
Instead I found this deal online for a prison complex turned into a boutique hotel. Only I missed reading the part about committing to an authentic experience. Which is all explained if you read the contract.
After working the prison yard we were too tired assign blame. The moon a reminder that only a lunatic would have signed up for this holiday.

I'd love read what you think about this post...
Lunatic. Or fool!
ReplyDeleteLooking the the moon is a reminder of that word. Thanks for your comments Dale, I hope they are for the story and not the writer ;-)
DeleteOf course, the story...
DeleteThat's an imaginative and fun take on the prompt. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny I am glad you liked it.
DeleteDear Subroto,
ReplyDeleteNot exactly a romantic holiday, is it? Imaginative and funny.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Always read the fine print :-) Thanks for reading and commenting Rochelle.
DeleteVery imaginative.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa
DeleteDrole! How could he ever think that a prison boutique hotel could be more fun than traipsing down the famous canals of Venice on a gondola!!
ReplyDeleteHe didn't read the fine print ;-) Thanks for reading and commenting Anshu.
DeleteHoliday from hell! Always take advice!!
ReplyDeleteSome deals are too good to be true :-)
DeleteThis is definitely a case of needing to read the small print. I loved the sense of rest set up by '...with the gentle pulse of a gondolier’s oar,' which this holiday turned out not to have.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah I am glad you liked it.
DeletePerhaps they will laugh about it later. Lunatic indeed. 😊
ReplyDeleteIt might even bring them closer. Thanks for reading and commenting Jo.
DeleteI love it! Probably because I could have done the same thing too, but the difference is I would have enjoyed it. Such a different take.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a different experience for sure. Thanks for commenting Fatima.
DeleteOh At least you could check out sometimes... imagine if it was a Hotel California experience.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! Now that would be signing up for life imprisonment voluntarily. Thanks for commenting Björn.
DeleteThat was fresh, funny and unexpected! Great story.
ReplyDeleteThanks Loré.
