We meet in the area next to the shops. Not my idea but the counsellor had suggested
a ‘neutral ground’. For my own sanity I’ve
cut off all communications except discussions regarding the children.
It’s the children I’ve come to pickup for the weekend. Seeing her brings emotions flooding back
again. Before the shock discovery I’d
really thought that our life was soaring high.
“You’ve finally lost some weight” she comments.
“It’s the infidelity diet,” I can’t help myself “not really recommended
but it works.”
Her face hardens, “I’ll pick them tomorrow”.
Maybe one day we will make small talk.
